Terms of use
Version 0.1 (draft, not yet in force)
1. About us
Treptes is the trade name of TREPTES STUDIOS, S.L., a Spanish limited company with NIF B19427079 and registered office at Avda. Ernesto Sarti 10, CC Parque Royale L22-23, 38660 Adeje, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. Registered in the Mercantile Registry of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, sheet TF-73122. In these terms it is called “Treptes”, “we” or “us”.
We make logic games that you can play on treptes.com (the “site”) and in our mobile apps (together, the “games”). These terms apply to every use of the site and the games and to every purchase of Treptes Premium. By playing or buying, you confirm that you have read and accept the version in force at that time.
2. Definitions
- Player: anyone who uses the site or plays a game, with or without an account.
- Guest: a player without an account. A guest's progress is stored only on their device.
- Account: an optional profile created by signing in with a supported provider (for example Google), which keeps your progress and purchases across devices.
- Consumer: a player acting for purposes outside their trade, business or profession.
- Premium: the paid features of a game, sold as a subscription or as a one-time purchase, to players with an account.
- Store: the Apple App Store or Google Play, when you buy inside a mobile app.
- Reseller: Paddle.com Market Limited, which sells Premium on the site on our behalf (section 8).
3. Contact
Email: contact@treptes.com. We try to reply within two working days. When you play or buy, you agree that we may contact you by email about your account, your purchases or a problem you reported.
4. Playing the games
The games are free to play. You don't need an account: as a guest you can play straight away and your progress is saved on your device. If you clear your browser data, uninstall the app or change device, a guest's progress can be lost. An account protects it.
The games are for personal, non-commercial entertainment. You agree not to:
- cheat, manipulate ratings, medals, streaks or rankings, or use bots or scripts to play;
- copy, decompile, modify or resell the games, or extract their puzzles or content;
- interfere with the site, the games or our servers, or try to access them in ways we don't offer;
- use the games in any way that breaks the law or harms other players.
Ratings, medals, streaks, rewards and other in-game progress have no monetary value, can't be exchanged for money and can't be transferred to other players.
5. Your account
Creating an account is optional for playing, and needed to buy Premium. When you sign in for the first time, the progress saved on your device as a guest is moved to your account. You are responsible for keeping access to the sign-in provider you use and for the activity in your account. We may suspend or close an account that is used fraudulently or against these terms; if it has an active subscription, we tell you why and, where the law requires it, refund the unused part.
You can delete your account at any time by writing to us. Deleting your account deletes the progress stored in it; it doesn't cancel a subscription bought in a store, which you cancel there (section 9).
6. Advertising
Free and unregistered accounts may see short ads between games, never during a puzzle or while it is paused. Premium removes ads in the games it covers. How ads use data is explained in our privacy policy and cookie policy.
7. Premium
Premium unlocks extra features in a game, for example additional difficulty levels, unlimited hints, more statistics and no ads. The exact features, prices and plans are shown before you buy. You need an account to buy Premium: it is linked to that account, so it works on every device where you sign in.
Plans can be monthly or yearly subscriptions, or a one-time purchase (lifetime) for a game. A free trial, when offered, turns into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends; we show the trial length and the price before you start it.
8. Prices and payment
On the site, Premium is sold by our reseller and merchant of record, Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”). Paddle processes the payment, issues your invoice, collects the applicable taxes (VAT or sales tax) and handles billing questions, under its own buyer terms. Prices are shown in your local currency where available, with taxes included or added as required in your country, before you pay.
In the mobile apps, Premium is sold through the Store you use, with your Store account, under the Store's terms and payment conditions.
The price that applies is the one shown when you buy. We may change subscription prices for future periods; we tell you in advance, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
9. Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price then in force, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time:
- bought on the site: from the link in your purchase confirmation email, or by writing to us;
- bought in an app: in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
After cancelling, Premium stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and is not renewed. Cancelling does not by itself refund the current period; see section 10.
10. Right of withdrawal and refunds
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you can withdraw from a purchase of Premium within 14 days of the payment and get a full refund, as long as you have not used Premium yet. Premium starts as soon as you buy it: at checkout you ask us to start immediately and you acknowledge that, once you use it, you lose the right of withdrawal.
You have used Premium when, after the purchase, you finish a game with Premium active or use a feature that only Premium offers (for example a Genius puzzle or a hint beyond the free ones). The details and how to ask are in our refund policy. Purchases made in an app are refunded by the Store, under its own rules. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
11. Changes to the games and availability
We keep improving the games, so features, puzzles and design can change. We try to keep the games available at all times, but they may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or technical problems, and some features need an internet connection.
If we remove a paid feature you rely on, or stop offering a game, we tell you in advance. Active subscriptions for that game are refunded for the unused period; for one-time purchases we offer a fair solution, such as access to an equivalent feature or a refund, as the law requires.
12. Intellectual property
The games, the site and all their content (puzzles, texts, logos, graphics, code) belong to TREPTES STUDIOS, S.L. or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them for playing, under these terms. You may not copy, publish or use them in any other way without our written consent. Reports of misuse go to contact@treptes.com.
13. Liability
We are not responsible for:
- temporary interruptions of the site or the games (maintenance, updates, technical problems);
- loss of guest progress stored only on your device, for example after clearing browser data;
- the content of external websites linked from the site;
- damage caused by using the games against these terms or the law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law does not allow it, nor the rights you have as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content.
14. Personal data and cookies
TREPTES STUDIOS, S.L. is the controller of your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679. How we use your data is explained in our privacy policy, and how we use cookies and similar technologies in our cookie policy.
15. Age
Anyone can play as a guest. To create an account or make a purchase you must be at least 14 years old or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian; purchases by minors must be made with their parent's or guardian's permission.
16. Changes to these terms
These terms are versioned: each update gets a new version number and date, shown at the top of this page. If we make important changes, we tell you in the games or by email before they apply. A purchase is governed by the version in force when you made it.
17. Complaints and disputes
Please send any complaint to contact@treptes.com; we reply within 30 days at the latest. If we can't reach a friendly solution, consumers can turn to the consumer protection authorities or the courts. These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection given to you by the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim before the courts of your place of residence.
18. Language
These terms are written in English. Translations are for information; if they differ, the English version prevails, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
